The Strategies:

The Goat Strategy

Both players missed a bunch of challenges and didn't exactly perform spectacularly. They both made it much farther then expected. If Max had saved Pino (like everyone expected) Pino would have actually had a good chance at winning.

Lesson to be learned: This strategy would have worked if they had turned their game on at the end. It probably won't be a good strategy though in season 2, as teams may get sick of their weak link.

The Front Runner Strategy:

These players came out strong and performed very well in the challenges. However, they didn't have a strong enough alliance to save them when they had a bad round. All three saved players that never really finished in the top half (Libra- Cat, Thinga- Smiley, and Yzysg- NickF.) After dominating the start, Libra was eliminated at the first opportunity. At the final 9, everyone teamed up against Thinga to eliminate him from the game. Yzysg made it all the way to the final 3 without an alliance, but was eliminated when he lost in Balderdash. (Fun fact: Yzysg would have won the game if he made it past final 3. He completed the final challenge by far the fastest.)

Lesson to be learned: Find someone to have your back that is good at the games. Smileyriley does not count.

The Likeable Strategy:

Max started out very strong, but had some trouble in the second half of the game. But everyone loves Max so it worked out. He was saved by four different players during the game, and was given exemptions twice. Then, he stepped it up when it counted to win the final 3 challenge. He was very close to beating Maldoror in the final challenge.

Lesson to be learned: It helps when people have your back. It helps even more when multiple people have your back.

The Knock out Thingamajig Strategy:

This one is simple. Just do everything you can to get rid of Thinga. That's what Cat did, and then she was eliminated.

The So Close to Being Safe, and then Creep Everyone Out Strategy:

Played by: Finishthemoff

Perfected by: Dapa

Finishthemoff was just crazy. He then lost it when he was eliminated. Dapa kept on missing the top half by the smallest margin. Then he started talking about crazy things and creeped everyone out. No one saved him that round. Since then, everyone has gotten to know and love Dapa (but I think FTO was banned.)

The Well Rounded Strategy:

Played by: Wuming Shi

Perfected by: Maldoror

Both of these two were good at the challenges, but had very strong alliances that kept them in the game when they messed up. The most controversial decision came when Wuming gave up the exemption to help Maldoror win the Headache round. This would have been a good startegy, but Yzysg pulled off the miraculous win, and knocked Wuming out of the game. Maldoror of course went on to win Board Game Battles Season 1.
